(Delivering Revelation) Freedom
Most of the World is not Free. There are prisoners who are free in prison in their own minds because someone told them about God and gave them a bible and they believed. 1 Corinthians 7:22 "For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman." The constraining force of the unseen darkness is "its" twisting deception of the truth reinforced in men's minds through repeated temptation to believe falsehood. Unfortunately original man and woman were subjected to this darkness, laying aside the reality of what they were (royalty) and trading it for death. Mean old God just wasn't hip to what the serpent spoke of. Typical, stereotype of the short, bald salesman, who could sell an Eskimo a refrigerator! Beware of man who speak with forked tongue! It is what he's hiding from you that will hurt you. Oh, but he had such a kind face?! It's called sinister, (evil, corrupt, perverse, dishonest, undermining).
What wouldn't a prisoner trade for his freedom? Someone told them, I can get you out of here but you have to work for me. We'll make lots of money. Drive fancy cars. Own houses, drink expensive wine, smoke fancy cigars! Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death." You mean I could trade my life in prison for death? There is a better deal in the universe and there are no strings attached. The Maker, has a deal you can't refuse, it is called what you're living in now (death) for His life! And of course, we get to choose. What, you might ask does this life thing include? Everything good, only good, all the time. I want that deal!
Freedom Defined
Websters: "A state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty; exemption from slavery, servitude or confinement. freedom is personal, civil, political, and religious."
Notice the last statement. I will conclude that by the very definition of freedom, man is not free unless he is so in all 4 areas, personal (salvation), civil as in has civil rights, political as in the government is not ruling class or totalitarian, religious, freedom to practice religion.
Personal Freedom "Any exemption from constraint or control." That is the definition. So who tries to constrain or control you? Sometimes we do! Bring this definition into things spiritual and we enter the war of the kingdoms for our souls. We find out from scripture and reason that Jesus represents our freedom and satan "it" our captivity through sin. Both are unseen spiritual entities . Our proof lies in our believing or not believing scripture. At the very basic definition of freedom, we must be free in our minds to choose. Deuteronomy 30:15 says, "See, I (God) have set before you today life and good, death and evil, therefore choose life." This verse plays out in all of our life experiences. If our choices are only evil, life will be evil. If our choices are only good then we have Paradise! Can someone say, "DUH"! Until the Lord returns we have no Paradise on earth because evil has corrupted most things, including some churches.
God's Definition of Freedom.
John 8:31-32 "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." Who made us free?
Romans 8:2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." (Answer) So God thru Jesus Christ.
In Romans. 1:1 Paul calls himself a servant of Jesus Christ and in Romans 6:22 calls believers "servants". "But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." 1 Corinthians 9:19 "For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more." KJV Free men who chose to serve Jesus and men. Don't let anyone make you a slave! Hey, certain translations use the word slave and others use enslaved. The point was not slavery and being bound! Notice we were not "made" into servants but we have the free choice of serving the one who freed us, and so became. Bad translations can mess with your mind!
We are talking about freedom in God's mind. He is so freedom minded that He will let you choose wrong. He honors your choice! He does exhort you to choose rightly. Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
A slave mentality is different than a free man mentality. Religion has in the past attempted to enslave it's people. But an enlightened people will not let that happen! Denominations who told their people not to read the bible were enslaving people to their own version of Christianity. They were wrong! They kept people from the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Divine healing, evangelism, understanding sin, and much more. My grandmother had a huge bible on her bookcase that she never read. She gave it to me and I read it! I rebelled against slavery! You should too. Even the remnants of slavery are bad. You may have remnants of poor slave mentality in your mind from generations past. Some demon cursed your family line to try and keep it in bondage. Thoughts you see, can be inherited. Galatians 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free!
Walkout and Away From (Never Look Back)
In Christian ministry, we focus on what the problem is and then we look to find a solution in order to help people get free. Much of the church world has bought into secular psychology as a part of the answer. My contention is that it is Godless and has its roots in Occultism. Jung, Freud, yep. We don't want people to trade one bondage for another. Watch out for short bald salesman speaking with forked tongue! We should be looking for God's direction. Go God's way, and the goal is freedom. In past talks we have mentioned in regard to evil, that it should not be reconciled with, toyed with, or invited for supper! No, it is meant to be recognized, repented of, removed (cast out), and resisted from ever coming back! If some short bald fool with a forked tongue is knocking on your door, tell him "git lost cause I'm calling the police!" Where we used to practice giving in, we now practice keeping "it" out. Lot's wife was on the way out and gave into temptation and it killed her! Sucked all the life (water) right out of her! Of course now, God gives grace but not to keep sinning without remorse.
We are still in a fallen world, even after God's healing manifests in us. Because of this we must remain vigilant, as the watchman on the walls of our own lives! Maintaining our deliverance is as important to us as it can be to others around us. It is possible to be partially delivered from what has us bound and remain bound by other things. Sometimes we can be short sighted when it comes to ourselves. We can for instance see other people as the problem and accuse or blame those not at fault. Receiving clear vision of ourselves is a gift from the Holy Spirit for yourself and others around you! Without this we can go backwards quickly. It is called lack of knowledge of ourselves. Maintaining our freedom is dependent on many things, one of which is a determination to be free and overcome those thought patterns which have put you in negative circumstance. This is something that is changed over time, so allow yourself that time.
Walking out and away from is the renewing of our minds to the point of never going back. Lot and his family did this when they left Sodom and Gomorrah. They , Lot, his wife, and two daughters were told by the Angel of God to go to the mountains and not look back. Lot, afraid to go into the mountains, asked if the Angels would let him flee to Zoar and abide there, "for it is a little city". So the Angels allowed this saying we will not overthrow Zoar because he asked for refuge there. Interesting that the angels were going to overthrow Zoar before Lot entreated them, but relented. Looks like that town was in the same moral condition that Sodom and Gomorrah was in and scheduled for judgment. Could it be that even though they left Sodom that the familiarity of living there had a hold on them? He didn't seem to want to get to far away. The inclination they had to hang onto sin can be with us as well. The proximity of sin tolerated can create a soul tie with us! We should break off those familiar ties! There are cities in the U.S. that are in the same moral decline as Sodom and Gomorrah. San Francisco appears to be one of them. A very strong earthquake took place there in 1989 destroying much and injuring and killing many. I moved from there 3 years earlier and thank God because the places and roadways which were destroyed were such that I frequented. I never looked back!
We have in us the overcoming Spirit of God. Through cooperation with Him we can leave behind those workings of the enemy and proceed into the sanctification of God through the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Is the Lord nudging you in that direction? His desire is that you prosper and be healthy.
How do I maintain a positive direction toward Wholeness?
Remember wholeness is sanctification
1Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Surrender to a life practice of fellowship with the Lord
1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord."
Ever increasing faith, hope and love
2 Corinthians 10:15 "Our hope is that as your faith increases, our field among you may be greatly enlarged."
Be quick to forgive, quick to repent
Revelation 2:16 "Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth."
Develop with Holy Spirits help a vibrant prayer life
Acts 6:4 "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word."
Get deliverance when you recognize the need
2 Corinthians 1:10 "who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,"
Bible feeding and meditation every day
Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Sowing and reaping 2 Corinthians 9:6 "But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully."
Imagine yourself Healed and Well Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind or imagination is stayed on you: because he trusts in you.”
Practice Dr. Henry Wrights 8Rs
We 1)Recognize we have a problem and need to discern good and evil. Fear is sin, a type of faith. We go into captivity because of no knowledge. Sin is a form of death. Hosea 4:6 " My people are destroyed with a lack of knowledge or not using knowledge."
Are we a high priest for satan through unforgiveness? There are consequences for sin. Hebrews 5:14 We have to practice being righteous. There is time involved in walking out of bondage. My choice whether heaven or hell stays today. 1 Corinthians 12 discerning spirits - Knowledge helps you recognize the present from the past- Hebrews 12:4, what is good and evil. Romans 7, Fear is sin.
Take 2)Responsibility for our actions. Acts 3:19 - "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." We are being changed into His image Today we need to take responsibility.
3)Repent to God, sin has separated us from our God. Revelation 2:5 Jesus has a few things against us. Revelation 22:6 Revelation 3:2-3 can we lose our salvation? Revelation 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." Lukewarm is unstable.
4)Renounce Mark 7:21, 1Corinthians 10, participate with sin? -cannot participate and have fellowship with God and devils
5)Remove - take authority in Jesus name where I put my foot is holy ground. Be filled with the knowledge of God Ezekial 18:30 common to our existence. The chosen do not get to live in their sin - turn yourself around, cast away all your transgression.
6)Resist do not just start casting out demons. Knowledge needs to be taught as foundation. James 4:7 devil is not omnipresent or omniscient. Your ability to resist satan is related to your obedience to God. We must rule our spirit. Draw near to God seek ye first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33). New testament is addressed to sinning saints. 2 Timothy 2:24 speaks of ministry to the church.
7)Rejoice We have received the mercy of God!
8) Restore others- fruit of the Gospel Isaiah 42:22 be a gift of God Psalm 51:12 restore joy of my salvation then … bringing gospel to others.
For 5 months now, the Word of God has been conveyed to you in a radical new, different way. What we have received over the past 22 weeks will help us fight against sin which has shown up for maybe most of our lives, until now. You have been given tools to help you overcome what was passed to you through the generations before and what you've encountered in your life, which was sin and hindered you in your faith. You have been armed with the knowledge of God and His ways through the renewing of the mind. Although the revelation you've received has been plentiful, the journey remains and the strengthening of your souls must continue to take place. Our minds have been challenged to think differently than before and rise up in the power and wisdom of God taking back the land of our lives from the enemy, "it". Remember Mark 4. First the seed is planted, next the blade shows up, then the ear and finally the harvest we have entered into faith to obtain. We need to see this work the Lord has begun to the finish line, and this phase is what Henry Wright calls "walkout". One might refer to this as the end of the line for those things which troubled me. In this journey there can be no comparison to others, no competition, only a changed outlook on your lives through renewed minds. What you decide to choose tomorrow is completely up to you. Don't be concerned about the amount of progress but remember the steps forward cannot be erased! You will never be the same, because you dared to look into the mirror of the living Word and allowed change to take place. The Word is still living and effective so put it to work on your behalf in obedience to and in partnership with your Father who loves you! Isaiah 55:8-11 challenges us to turn from our ungodly thoughts and make His thoughts our thoughts, and His ways our ways through the process of sowing and reaping. His Word is still the power of God unto our salvation! His Word Will not fail at its job. Through faith the Word won't return void!
