Is Healing Automatic? May 15th 2023

(Clarifying Revelation) Websters 1. Belonging to an automation; having the power of moving itself; mechanical. 2. Not voluntary; not depending on the will.

Healing depends on something. But it is not mechanical. It does not depend on the will of man. To be healed from a sick condition requires something greater than the condition that can restore a body to a healthy state. Positive thinking could possibly aid in recovery but overcoming a lifetime of negative thinking can take a while!

One man in scripture, (John 5:1-15) needed 38 years and some help from God to be free from his illness. We don't even know his name. You know, the fellow at the pool of Bethesda. I imagine there were many men there, and women who wanted a chance to win the healing lottery! No tickets were given out, but there was this angel who periodically showed up to initiate a cripples race into the water to receive the first place prize of restored health! A little silly I suppose but I'm sure some people think that is how it works in God's Kingdom. Although Jesus had mercy on this fellow and healed him, he was cautioned to sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you. What sin? The bible doesn't mention a specific sin.

Although it wasn't mentioned, we can by careful reading see that Jesus said, "rise, take up your bed and walk," and then he did when before he could not walk. John 5:6-7 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me." From this part of the passage it sounds like the man had lost his will to help himself and was now whining to others about why he couldn't be healed. A sure sign that self pity had set in! In any case, Jesus was connecting the illness to sin. Cause and effect.

How many of you know when something mechanical is broke that it needs to be fixed? Jesus will fix you if you will be fixed. My question is to you, "what inside of you needs to be fixed?" Well the doctors tell me I have this and that wrong with me and the Chiro and the other medicine men are sure I have something else. Jesus didn't talk to people about their physical problems but He did about their spiritual troubles. He knew the cause and He was the answer and still is!

Whether the problem is sin done to you or through you or generational or your generation or your willing participation with it …it is still sin. Just like the guy who put water in the gas tank, we are not going to run so well on sin! God's provision for sin is simple. Recognize and repent. Receive the blood of Jesus cleansing of all unrighteousness. He asks us to forgive so He will forgive us.

What if you don't know what is blocking you? Ok, let's take a look at some possibilities.

Trying to receive through Miracles

There are three important reasons for receiving from God through blessings rather than miracles. First, blessings prevent crises, while miracles deliver from crises. Second, a blessing is always a more abundant supply than a miracle. And third, miracles are a temporary fix, while blessings are permanent solutions. Therefore, if you’re living from miracle to miracle, it probably means you’re living from crisis to crisis. The blessing always makes rich and adds no sorrow with it.

Giving in to temptation

It’s also important to understand that all temptation is rooted in selfishness. In fact, our selfishness is really Satan’s beachhead. Jesus stripped him of his power two thousand years ago, so the only thing he can really do is deceive us through our own selfish desires. The Bible tells us exactly what they are in 1 John 2:16,“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (Andrew Wommack)

Not having Faith

Sense knowledge isn't enough to bridge heaven and earth where you are with the desired outcome of faith. Faith must be learned correctly, by studying the Word of God, and meditating over and over with your full attention' and then speaking what you believe. Jesus didn't say, "Watch me, it's easy, go and do likewise." For one thing, He had a relationship with the Father and sinned not!. By the way He's your Father too! The Word of God inside of you is the only defense against sickness especially now.

One thing I noticed about the bible is that it has never once changed. If you heard a scripture 30 years ago chances are that you need to refresh yourself with it again, (short shelf life.)

If you are real serious about receiving from God, Dr. Henry Wright's book, "A More Excellent Way" is full of 33 blocks to healing and root causes which will give you specifics according to the disease or illness so that you can overcome these things in your life.

Approaching a problem with knowledge is preferable to ignorance! The testimonies bear out this approach to healing. We need to see more people healed than ever before. This means that we need to educate more people than ever before. You can educate yourself to a degree, but if you want to learn from those who have gone before us in faith, you will be able to go further faster and have way more understanding than most. Why? I can learn practically as much reading William Seymour, John G. Lake, Smith Wigglesworth, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, as I can reading the Acts of the apostles. I'm not saying to choose your source, but supplement it. Read Hebrews 11 when you get home see what God said about old time people of faith. Those who walk with God, no matter what age are included in the great Hall of Faith. Hebrews 11:1-2, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report." Hebrews 11:39-40 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided something better for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."

Lifestyle

If you have a lifestyle that does not include reading and meditating on the Word of God, then I will say you have an unhealthy lifestyle. You might say, "I do read my bible and I'm a good Christian." The world is full of good (sick) Christians who don't take advantage of the Words of life in the bible. If you're not sick now, you might be tempted to join the latest flu party, or the 'woe is me' group, or even let your well meaning family member sell you a 30 day free trial membership to Doctors choice sickness roulette wheel online! They will throw a party for you and bill you later!

A healthy lifestyle is outlined in the Makers manual (Bible). John 6:53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Communion is essential to our lifestyle. John 6:33 Jesus said to them, "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then He said, " I ( the Word) am the bread of life." We desperately need relationship with God in this day and age. Might I say that relationship is not just what you experienced in the past but what is currently taking place today. Walking with your Father then is what we need. He has everything you need! Proverbs 3:7-8 says, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones."

You're calling not being answered

The Lord is calling, but your voicemail is full! He has a plan for your life but you are not ready, it would not fit in your schedule and it is easier if you just ignore it. You would be surprised at the response He gets from just a simple, " I want you to follow Me." It is true you can't see Him, and that maybe you don't have time to seek Him, but we must. Being open is needed for you to hear from the Master. He has need of you! You have need of Him. Might be time to clear your voicemail!

So what we have been discussing is Casual or Mere Christianity. This is where the blocks come from.

CS Lewis said this, "“To have Faith in Christ means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you.”

There are many parts to a car's transmission. I've seen them taken apart and wonder, "how do they know what parts go where?" But it is no more complicated than the human body. Especially because there is a soul involved. When a transmission is repaired, the broken parts are taken out and are replaced with new along with the oil and it is also cleaned at that time. Repairs on the human body are still not on the level of an automobile. Doctors are smart, but not on the level of God! Ok, now that you have perspective, are you ready to trust God? After all it is essential, and you cannot do well without it!

You see if you’ve been a Christian for a while you have understood that things don't come automatically to those who desire for the Kingdom of God answers. Desire is a start but only to motivate you into study of our covenant which reveals the truths of Kingdom life and operation. We want to know what conditions need to be met, what requirements there are, and when it will happen. We might have to wait a little on that last point! Excuse me! I have to grow faith in my heart?! How long will that take? "I don't have all summer to sit here and waste away." Perhaps you need patience. After all Faith works wonders with Patience. Better get busy. At this point people are looking up the next miracle crusade. I know, I've been there! But like I said last week, " we need to look inside for the answers, because that is where the Holy Spirit is located. To do your best in this case is to seek God, through His Word, plant and/or water as you have to. Connect or reconnect with your Father. You see, Jesus is Lord of all or not Lord at all! Old John Hagee saying. Sorry, but I'm saving Joel Osteen for last! I want to finish as Mr. Nice Preacher, so you feel good about being told to get with the program!

Now I've spent some time describing how faith for healing is not automatic and you might be a little put off, but hang in there, here's the hope. There are what I call pre-conditions like tilling up the fallow ground of the heart

People in Jesus' day we know experienced transformation, as we've discussed before. Usually it was the desperate ones who had no other hope and when they found Jesus, their faith which came from hearing the Word that 'Jesus heals, today,' came alive and everything in them screamed, "there is my answer!" That kind of faith is available today! That kind of transformation is available today! For you! There is something in you which can give you the God kind of faith and the answers you need to end your suffering. Mark 11:22-23And Jesus answering saith to them, `Have faith of God; YLT For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

The minute you begin seeking God for your answer, the transformation begins. The God kind of transformation will produce lasting results, because it is the Fathers way. We as His sons and daughters, sitting at the feet of Jesus, learning from Him, who is the Bible, hearing by the Word of God, and seeking to be like Him, is the greatest testimony of a child's respect for his parents! Imagine you having the authority to prove Doctors wrong! That is what the woman with the issue of blood did. Believe me, you want transformation. When you come out of this problem, you will not want to look at any other answer but Jesus.

With Jesus, sins are forgiven, agreements with darkness are broken, bondages undone, deliverance takes place, and healing is the result!

Whether your problem was physical, mental, spiritual or natural, healing is then the result and it happens automatically, because the conditions of seed time and harvest were met! You want to obtain a good report? Go to Mark chapter 4 and study it. Learn the process. Mark talks about the Word (seed) will bring forth fruit of itself. Meditate day and night. Notice the growth stages. First the blade, then the ear and then the full corn in the ear. The process works automatically when the conditions are met, mainly you plant, and you nurture and you harvest! Something else happens when you meditate on the Word, you begin to see yourself well! We all need to see what we are believing for in our hearts. Losing that sick identity and taking on your new Christ - healed identity is part of the transformation. So get in the car, start the engine and put the transmission in drive and go. After all it is automatic!
