Mankind's Worst Enemy - Fear June 10, 2024

This was here before any of us were ever around. Worst because it can cause us to see a future of futility from where we are right now. All we have to do is give in just a little and then negative thoughts begin to flood in and be captured by the memory that was supposed to bless us. Seeds as those thoughts, are given place in a heart meant to nurture God's Word as the way of His provision. The spirit of fear can claim it's right to spook you just because something in the past didn't set right with you. "You better be careful! Best not to touch that, you know what happened to your relatives. Don't trust people, Don't claim anything positive it could backfire on you, and (Jinx you!) Remember the movie you watched as a kid, "oooga booga zooga!
Traumas definitely serve to haunt us and make us continually afraid. They keep the door of fear open and try to bring more of the same in. What is a person to do? In our experience we find that most people carry around fears all their lives and never become free. Some are passed down from the generations past and almost seem natural. You may have heard someone say, "a little fear is good for you." No it isn't! I'll pass on that!
I've found the starting block to overcoming fear is to gain spiritual knowledge about fear and then to follow the directions in the book. But if I take authority over a spirit I might end up in worse condition. Not so. You might end up in worse shape by just letting it be. Anytime you study something it starts to become less powerful in your mind. Whether it's covid or candy bars it will work that way, (how God made us). Just ask King David about protecting the sheep. To be a good shepherd one has to make the sheep feel safe. He killed the lion and the bear while on sheep duty. He probably knocked off a few coyotes before that. So because of those victories (with the help of God), He was emboldened to take on Goliath!
So let's start out with the coyote, lion or bear. All critters which could kill us.
What do you think of when you hear sickness or serious disease? Something that could kill me? How is it we are able to hear the devils voice 1st and not God's? Here is the secret of David. Receive revelation from God through His Word before there is trouble. When did he receive the Word? On sheep duty. When did he use the Word? Fighting a battle. This does need a little explanation.
1 Samuel 17:8 And he Goliath stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? Am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
9 If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.
11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:
35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.
Answer: He used the Word of God before and during the battle.
Look… 44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.
45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands.
Point one: The Philistine was emboldened because of trust in his own great size and extensive training. David had heard the Word of the Lord and trusted the covenant God had with Israel and what God had downloaded to him on sheep duty. David was trained by God!
Point 2: God was working through David fighting for Israel.
Point 3: Faith in God's Word always produces the God kind of results even if we don't see the outcome in advance. It's called trust.
Point 4: God backed David's words exactly.
What happened that day? Goliath died and the Philistines were wounded and killed and spoiled.
What would happen if you fought your battles with the same fervor David did? Answer: You would use as your incentive, the Word of God. You would realize His Word is His covenant with man. You would expect what God said to come to pass! Amen
So, what would have happened that day if David had not been fully persuaded like Abraham was?
Back to our day and age. Fear is something we need to overcome as a roadblock to receiving our healing. How?
1. It starts with truthful evaluation. David said he had killed the lion and the bear. What demonic things have you come up against and seen victory? Think back to when God has delivered you. New at this? It's ok, just follow the footsteps.
2. What do you have that you're enemy doesn't? Answer: God's Authority and fellowship with Him
See Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you!
3. Realize where the fears came from. What type of fear is it? phobia? panic? anxiety? stress? Make a list and use it to cast out the fears . You can ask God to show you. Our ministry can also help.
Fear can show up from many places. Let's give some examples: abandonment, rejection, a broken heart, loneliness, separation from loved ones, sin, guilt, not believing the Word's of promise in the bible. Watching fearful events happen, traumas, not knowing how you will get out of a negative situation, growing up with parental abuse, or without a good church background. There are many more places, search them out.
4. Break agreement with all spirits of fear!
5. Take your Authority in Christ and use the name of Jesus against the spirit of fear-any kind of fear! Cast it out!
3 basics - Be reconciled with God, be reconciled with yourself and with others. Why? This is the beginning of finding the healing you need, especially from spiritually rooted sickness and deliverance from fear.
Notice these are places where love is restored. Unforgiveness can prevent this so it is good to forgive in advance . Make your decision and don't retreat from it.
Consider these scriptures:
1 John 4:18 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment, (including anything that causes you torment like sickness). He that fears is not made perfect in love.
Giving and receiving the God kind of love is a big deterrent to spiritually rooted diseases. So is loving yourself. Have you ever loved you just because God said to? Aww c'mon look in the mirror and see what your Father sees. Inside is the perfect image of God! Gen. 1:26 You don't need to measure up to man!
Relationship breaches: Over the years I have had to forgive people with fear and tremblings, and this included parents, ancestors, friends, family, the dog, all elitist, world rulers, large foreign people groups, illegal immigrants, leftists, news media, etc. I found where the freedom begins and it starts with cleaning up the attic.
Alright, by now you are seeing hopefully the way of escape from things caused by fear. Restore what is Godly that has been lost. Make your love-life mirror God to others and you.
