Deliverance of God

Throughout the old testament God showed His people that He was and would always be their Deliverer. Since the time of Adam, the Lord raised up generation after generation of believers to bring His deliverance into the earth.

Genesis 8:1

Noah’s Deliverance

Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

Genesis 14:20

And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”

Genesis 45:7 Joseph

And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

Exodus 3:8 Israel

7 And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their [a]sorrows. 8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey"

Exodus 23:31 God

And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the River. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

Deuteronomy 7:23

But the Lord your God will deliver them over to you, and will inflict defeat upon them until they are destroyed.

6 “For you are a [b]holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. 7 The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of [c]bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 23:14

For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy,

Joshua 10:8

And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand."

Judges 3:10

When the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother. 10 The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim. 11 So the land had rest for forty years. not a man of them shall stand before you.”

Judges 7:15

And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”

2 Chronicles 18:11 Jehosaphat

And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for the Lord will deliver it into the king’s hand.”

Prophets foretold of what the Lord wanted to do for His people and as they obeyed, the Lord acted on their behalf.

Many, many times God delivered His people from their oppressors, He will also deliver you, saints of God!

So how does God deliver us today?

Enter the New Testament of God where Jesus, the greatest deliverer of all time and will ever be, came to earth as a man to give man power over man's worst and true enemy-satan and its influence. Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Son of the living God, hung on a cross, in our place, satisfying the wrath of God due to man's sin, and agreement with devils.. He also took upon Himself our sicknesses and diseases, and defeated the devils of hell giving us His victory over them. This my friends is the deliverance of God until the end of time. We who are with the Lord are His end time army, praying, evangelizing, healing, forgiving, and bringing God's deliverance to a hurting world and each other.

Sometimes we are in need of the Lord's deliverance. Sometimes healing. Hear the Words of God to you this morning as I read His promises, not different than Old Testament times but His intent is the same!

Psalm 91

Surely I shall deliver you from the snare of the devil

Because you have set your love upon Me, therefore I will deliver you;

You shall call upon Me, and I will answer you I will be with you in trouble; I will deliver you and honor you!
