(Clarifying Revelation) A negative spiritual condition is one that began with negative thoughts, which turned into negative feelings, and led to a negative reaction, impacting us negatively, and producing consequences, all negative of course. Negative thoughts are better known as sin. There are sin-created conditions perpetrated by someone other than us which negatively affect us such as generational curses, trauma, abuse, etc. Those who are at fault, God will judge. We need to know our part and take responsibility for any sinful reaction to the sin of others done to us so that we may be free!

In case you didn't know that thoughts originate in the spiritual realm, let's listen to what God says about thoughts. Isaiah 55:7-8 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. Notice the wicked began as righteous and then took on thoughts which were unrighteous, and became wicked. (Separated from God). Isaiah 55:9 says, " For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." So the Lord is saying, return to thinking My thoughts and living in My way, for it is the higher way to live.

The term spiritual condition is neutral because there is not an adjective to describe what type it is. If I were to use the words," ice cream," you would wonder what type and flavor it was. If one's spiritual condition was positive, then we could expect the opposite of what is stated in Isaiah 55:7 and it would read something like this: "Let the righteous continue in his way and let him also keep thinking his thoughts, for they are My way and My thoughts!"

Where do negative thoughts come from?

How about positive thoughts? If positive thoughts originate in God then negative thoughts originate with God's opposite…the wickedness in heavenly places! Devils, satan, the kingdom of evil. Let's explore the negative side of things for a moment to see if there is anything good there that we might want to be a part of. I want to first ask you a question," Can good only come from God ? Or evil only come from the devil? " Yes according to the bible. People are the only ones who try and blur the lines of distinction.

The adjective used in tonight's title is "negative." I feel the need to define this term if we are going to apply the knowledge. Here goes. A negative thought can be described as unhappy, unpleasant, miserable, horrible, and pessimistic. Negative feelings could be defined as depressive, dark, and sad. The same with negative reactions which are bad, unhappy, adverse. Then the consequences are - you guessed it, terrible, nasty, unfavorable. We are impacted in undesirable, detrimental even harmful ways. All through the thoughts we accept into our minds.

Conclusion: Good is from God and bad is from the devil! Somehow though we get things mixed up because the enemy is a deceiver and we do get tricked into thinking good is evil and evil is good, imagine that!

How, you might ask did the devil get involved in definitions of the word negative? Through synonyms. In this case sin -o- nyms. Such as the word evil, offensive, murderous, unsympathetic, and unloving. There are more where those came from, over four hundred more! It is the enemies rap sheet, all in definitions!

Now we know where the negative condition came from but what about the positive condition? Shall we look at the synonyms of the word positive? Ok here they are… Friendly, approving, sympathetic, complimentary, respectful, worshiping, welcoming, good, healthy, hopeful, beneficial, sound like someone you know? Looks like God's handprint is all over these descriptive terms! My Father and your Father!

What is your spiritual condition?

By going over the terms "positive" and "negative," you might qualify yourself as one or the other, possibly a mix of both. Maybe 70% positive and 30% negative?

Think of it this way. If the car you own were in a fender bender and the insurance agent asked you what is the condition of the vehicle, you would make an assessment of what you observed after the accident, as compared to before. You might say, "the paint is in perfect shape but the tire is flat. Also the chrome bumper is dented and a tail light is broken. Your assessment you conclude, is that the car is totaled and the insurance needs to pay you the retail value of the vehicle. I know from experience the agent is going to send an appraiser to check your claim out, and see if you are being truthful. As a Christian you need to be truthful. Don't be claiming the tail light if you backed the car up into the mailbox the week before! In the same way, we need to be truthful about ourselves!

God is wanting to fix the mess we are in, but it begins with us. You can use your best judgment and tell yourself you are 95% positive spiritually with only a few disclaimers. But you have this one problem…and of course it wasn't my fault! Things keep happening which should be dealt with but you do not know how. The 95% rating you gave yourself seems like really 40%. Most people need help especially when they get that sinking feeling from the enemy usually. God gave us the gift of each other to help as we can our brother and sister when necessary.

Self assessment

1st) We can ask ourselves," How do I feel? If you are honest with yourself, God and others, You can see the problem areas.

2nd) Ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten your memory to areas of sin, hurt, trauma, abuse, and other things on the negative side which you have experienced in the past.

3rd) Are there things that are troublesome to you, such as negative thought patterns or chronic sickness, or recurring nightmares?

4th) Think about your relationship with God, self, family, others? These should give you a thumbnail idea of what your spiritual condition is.

Do not worry about the assessment! God is the appraiser, who will take up your case and see it through to a positive completion!

How do I get rid of the negative stuff?

Dr. Henry Wright always said the 1st step to restoration is to recognize the sin or problem that is involved.

Negative spiritual conditions don't just happen. Somebody caused it. So what conditions are we talking about? Oh things like, you know, near death experiences, frightful encounters, abuse from someone, generational iniquities passed down to you, sin that you agreed with and did personally, rejection, bitterness, unforgiveness, rebellion, judgment of others, fear, stress, and anxiety. Basically spirit, soul and body are out of sync with each other, and out of balance.

Let's take trauma for instance. Does it begin with negative thoughts?

I'm thinking of a car wreck specifically. What happened seconds before the accident? Fear, stress, feeling out of control. Your mind is recording what is happening. Once the impact has happened, there could be more frightful things to deal with. What also takes place is that our minds can step aside and let our spirit take control, without us thinking about it. This could be a plus or minus depending on what you've been feeding yourself spiritually. You might be cursing or you might be praying to God. Sometimes in wrecks, people experience whiplash, which happens without us being conscious of it. The danger is that the enemy can take advantage of the momentary state of brain pause, and gain a stronghold in our soul.

We must keep in mind that repentance and forgiveness are the open doors to deliverance, (your healing).

A good dose of the truth can make you free from trauma!

We do not have to continually suffer the effects of trauma. Past negative experiences, no matter how awful they are or how long we suffered them can be healed by your Father God! Jeremiah 30:17 says, " For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord"

Dr. Henry Wright said this, "The truth is that memories do not torment us, but evil spirits do! The enemy kingdom gains access to us as we come into agreement with spirits because of our un-Godly response (sin) to the trauma. The first step to becoming free from torment that follows trauma is to deal with the enemy kingdom. To do this we must recognize our sinful response to the trauma and take responsibility for it so we can repent and renounce the sin and remove the enemy. We have been taught in the world that “of course” we experience fear, anger, confusion, depression, etc. when we remember a trauma. But these are sin and need to be dealt with as such. We are not saying that all emotions are sin, but emotions that control us, especially after an event is over, are a sign of the enemy holding us in captivity! Once we have removed the enemy kingdom, we need to deal with our thoughts. As we have agreed with, submitted to and lived in bondage to the enemy, we have been trained by him to think like him. In order to walk in liberty our minds need to be renewed to God’s way of thinking.

How is this done? Plant the Word of God in our hearts, daily, meditate daily, read and think about the healing scriptures, (Isaiah 53) etc. Over time as we do this, the supernatural power of God through His Word will displace the enemies' lies with His truth in your long term memory. Your body, being a responder to your thoughts (of Gods' Word) will respond with healing.

Isaiah 55 has a conclusion to verse 7 where we forsake our own way and the unrighteous thoughts, returning to the Lord and He pardons us…it is verse 12 and 13 - "For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands! 13, Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off." No more thorns or briers! Thank you Jesus!
