Before Creation

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

In the beginning of earth and it's story, Man was created in the garden of God and had eternal life. The life which he possessed was contingent on obedience to God's commandment, which revolved around a certain tree, called, " the knowledge of good and evil." Problem was, they had no knowledge of evil and so were only safe in obeying God. Woman came to be and oop's she was made with a bit too much curiosity. Man was still googley eyed for Eve and couldn't think straight, no wonder the serpent was able to take advantage of them! He convinced them to agree with him! So just like what God told them, they started to die. No more eternal life for them and their descendants and their authority to rule the earth was absconded by satan. But God held onto them through a blood covenant, Gen 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

So between creation and Abraham there was 2000 years in which man experienced the Fall, The Great Flood, the tower of Babel, and much unreported theft, murder, and people destroying one another etc., etc. Another 2000 years and Jesus the Savior was born.

The Word became flesh.

John 1:14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

What did Jesus come to do? That's right, restore man's authority and eternal life which were stolen in the garden. He had a lot of convincing to do. You would too if it had been 4000 years since you had been in earth in recognizable form. Heck, most of my classmates from 50 years ago were not recognizable! They might not have recognized me!

But Jesus convincing the people of His day was of the miraculous sort. Many miracles of healing, raising from the dead, wine multiplying and more should have been enough to sway them! Just not all of them. You had a choice in the matter, 1. to hear His Word and believe in Him who sent Jesus , and or to believe the works He was sent to do came from the Father. Listen…

John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

They had to believe the Father through Jesus. being the only way to pass from death of Adam to Life eternal with God.

John 5:36 But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

John 6:29-34  Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” Jesus is saying, " believe me!"

30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ” So all the miracles weren't enough for the Pharisees, they wanted their own personal sign from Jesus!  You can almost hear Jesus thinking , "I'll give you a sign!"

32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” Whoa, Poking the bear! Jesus was fearless. Apparently they didn't get it because here comes poke #2

34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” 35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (He hadn't mentioned the blood part yet!)John 6:48-58  I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”  52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”  Poke #3 53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

Many turn away

Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The Words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” 66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

What Jesus was asking them to believe

Word of God = God = Jesus = Jesus Flesh = Bread = Bread of Life =Eternal Life of the World = Your Life

Word of God = God   John 1 In the beginning was the Word (the person) and the Word was with God and the Word(of God) was God.

= Jesus Rev 19:11,12,13 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God (Jesus)

=Jesus flesh  John 1:14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

=Bread   John 6:32  Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven.

=Bread of Life  John 6:48 Jesus said, " I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die."

=Eternal Life of the World  John 6:51 If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

= Your Life  Deuteronomy 8:3

So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Word of God = Your Life

The trouble with Christianity is that most don't seem to live by every Word of God (by faith). Is the problem preachers? churches? Bible schools? We run into the same difficulties with older adults, middle aged and youth. People don't seem to know the basics of faith in God. They don't know what to do when crisis arises. Prayer chains, unbelieving prayers, reliance on the world and others wielding bad advice can make things worse. Sometimes there are cultural practices which get in the way. Seedtime and harvest is something to produce organic vegetables. Great, I am all for good eating! We can't allow ourselves to fear our food, just bless it.

If man is supposed to live by every Word of God, then there is a Word of God for every purpose, and every need. Sometimes it takes some searching to find the truth, but that is where we need to be led by God.

Spiritual deficiency can come in a number of ways. People are sometimes overworked and under-paid. The duties of life can be time consuming and tiring. Stress, depression, hopelessness, and fear are only some of peoples' reasons for not seeking God.

Amos 8:11 says,“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.

No preachers, no Bibles, no instructors, news media dedicated to paganism, public schools where Christianity is scorned, and other persecutions arising, can choke the Word, and make it difficult to pray and seek God. Dtrump had a word to the wise a few weeks ago. He said fight x3. That's interesting, God said to fight the good fight of faith. If there is a famine of hearing the Word and meditating on it, then fight to get back to it! Your success and peace in this world depend on it! What is robbing your time with God? It can't be that important. Joshua had to meditate day and night to be as successful as he was. HOW DID HE DO THAT AND LEAD MILITARY INVASIONS? Time maybe to rearrange our schedules and make a strait path to where our help comes from.

The Word of our Father needs to be honored, I think by daily reading and feeding on what He shows us. Surely, the day and time in which we find ourselves is begging us to dive deeper into the Word and come to a higher level of faith. Urgent situations require us to have "faith in the pipeline" of our souls. Isaiah 50:4“The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A Word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.

Proverbs 15:23 A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

I've got a word for you today from Jesus!

If you are experiencing drought… Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

John 8:30-32   “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Your Life is a product of what you do with it. If you follow the example of Joshua and Caleb you will have good success!

Proverbs  4:20 My son, give attention to my Words; Incline your ear to my sayings.21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh

Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Hebrews 4:12: For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Isaiah 55:10,11: For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my Word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

John 15: 4,5,7: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Psalm 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

John 14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Matthew 4:4: But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Isaiah 40:8: The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God will stand forever.

1 Peter 1:23: Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.

·         Be a hearer and doer of the Word and your life will equal one of good success!
